Artificial Lift Company installs Retrievable ESP system in Alaska North slope
Houston – March 1, 2014 – Artificial Lift Company has worked with a major operator to install the first completion with their new generation rigless electric submersible pump system in an Alaska North Slope well. The completion includes a new generation permanent magnet motor, the most efficient in the industry.
Going forward, pump change-outs will be completed in just two or three days through a live well intervention using a slickline unit, lubricator, and crane. Savings over a rig based workover are anticipated to be approximately USD 2 million. To replace the pump in a conventional ESP completion, the operator would have to mobilize a workover rig, kill the well, pull the tubing and the entire ESP system, replace the ESP, and rerun the tubing.
